Former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs is set to go on trial today, accused of controlling and coercive behaviour towards his former girlfriend.
The ex-Wales manager is also accused of assaulting Kate Greville and her sister Emma.
When last before the court, Giggs pleaded not guilty of the three counts put against him.
Sports Journalist based in Manchester Peter Hall outlines the charges brought against him initially in 2020.
"When Giggs was charged in April of 2020, a list of what he was accused of was read out by the prosecutor.
"These included throwing her and her belongings out of the house when she questioned him about his relationships with other women, sending constant unwanted messages and making constant unwanted calls to her and her friends when she tried to break off the relationship, and regularly turning up at her house, workplace and gym after she tried to end their relationship."
