A Cork TD has described the waiting list for Children's Disability Services on Leeside as 'completely scandalous'.
Thomas Gould was responding to a data release made to him by the HSE which shows that 1,584 children are waiting over 12 months for initial contact with a children's disabilty network team in Cork.
The figures show that over 2,000 children are on the waiting list including 400 children in Bandon, Carrigaline and Kinsale who have been waiting over a year to be contacted by one network team.

An eight-year-old girl is still fighting for her life in Crumlin's Children's Hospital in Dublin, after suffering 75 stab wounds in Co Clare.
Her mother also remains critically ill in hospital after being found unconscious at the premises in which they were staying.
Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in relation to the case.
