The CMO won't take on the role of Professor of Public Health Leadership and Strategy at Trinity College Dublin
Instead he will now retire from the public service on July 1st.

Dublin city is set to be thrown into chaos this morning as truckers are expected to block the main roads into the capital in protest at rising fuel costs which they say is severely affecting them.
The group, which named itself The People of Ireland Against Fuel Prices, say they will not end their protest without a resolution on the issue, and are prepared to protest for at least one week.

A 20% reduction in bus fares in Cork comes into effect from today.

The number of people reported dead in a Russian attack on a Ukrainian railway station has risen to 57.
The local governor says more than 100 people were injured on Friday.
The station was being used to evacuate people from the east of the country - prompting accusations of a war crime.
