The Taoiseach and Government ministers will meet today to discuss what has been described as a ‘severe shortage’ of accommodation for Ukrainian refugees as the Citywest facility for new arrivals is close to full capacity.

A government spokesperson said that over the past number of weeks there has been a significant increase in the number of people seeking access to the International Protection Service which is causing a severe shortage of available accommodation.

As the Dail prepares to take a two month long summer break today, the government has been accused of failing to deal with cost of living issues facing families throughout the country.
