The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling for the HSE's Emergency Taskforce to meet urgently to discuss overcrowding in Irish hospitals.

Cork University Hospital was the second most overcrowded hospital in the country in May, with 898 patients forced to wait on a trolley in the Emergency Department and wards elsewhere in the hospital.

A 6 year old boy had died after getting into difficulty at a hotel swimming pool in Co. Offaly.

The Irish Daily Star reports that the little boy was rushed to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore on Sunday evening but was later transferred to Crumlin Children's Hospital in Dublin where he died yesterday.

The operator of Dublin Airport will publish its plan to tackle long delays for passengers today.

The DAA will appear before the Oireachtas Transport Committee, and outline how queues, similar to last weekend, will be avoided.

The Environmental Protection Agency says all planned actions need to happen for Ireland to meet its emission reduction targets within the next ten years.

Projections by the environmental watchdog show Ireland can only meet EU targets to cut greenhouse gases by 28 percent by 2030 if all planned policies are carried out.
