Thousands of Irish people remain in the United States where 'stay at home' orders are still in place.
Across the US there are more than 835 thousand cases of Covid-19.
James Joyce from Roscommon is one of those who remained in the country.
He worked in a bar but its now closed and has no access to welfare support - he says the Irish community are rallying around each other.
"The majority of people are out of work, we're not living too extravagantly anyway, New York is an extremely expensive city.
"We're living very much within our means, we go down and buy what we need for dinner that day, and the next few days.
"It's one of the big things about New York that's so positive because there's such a big Irish community you always have people around you who can help you.
"Everyone is kind of chipping in to help each other."
