International travel effectively stopped during the pandemic and resulted in the temporary closure of virtually all travel agents.
The use of Covid certs to enter a country is still widespread across Europe, with several countries such as Portugal and Italy requiring all passengers to also present a negative Covid test result before flying.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tom Randles from Barter's Travelnet says many people are keen to get away as soon as possible:
"It's been great. I think people were anticipating the change in restrictions last Friday. So we saw a big increase from the start of the week and there's so much positivity around and it's just created a real buzz. A lot of couples that are ready and have the flexibility to travel, so from next week and the week after and into February, but there's also families there saying, right, I've had enough of the staycation for the last two years, and they're making plans for the summer holidays."
