Turkey has put ten international ambassadors on notice of expulsion after they called for the release of a jailed businessman.
Osman Kavala has been in prison since 2017, despite a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights calling for his immediate release two years ago.
The ambassadors said Mr Kavala's detention has "cast a shadow over respect for democracy, the rule of law and transparency".
The Turkish foreign ministry has called the letter "impertinent" -- and six EU ambassadors along with the representatives of the US, Canada and New Zealand have now been declared "persona non grata".
