In the UK, Conservative leadership hopeful Liz Truss has defended a U-turn she made on a controversial flagship policy.

She'll go up against rival Rishi Sunak in some more hustings, later.

The Foreign Secretary received a strong backlash from Tory MPs after announcing she'd pay workers in some regions less than their London counterparts.

The move would've saved nearly 9-billion pounds.

But Ms Truss insists the proposals were "misrepresented".

Meanwhile, British Conservative members are facing delays in receiving ballot papers allowing them to vote in the party's leadership race because of security fears.

The UK's National Cyber Security Centre's warned officials that hackers could change people's votes.
