UK: Conservative Party Leadership Candidate Says He Would Proceed With Unilateral Changes To The Northern Ireland Protocol

Conservative Party leadership candidate, Rishi Sunak, says the Northern Ireland protocol bill will continue to progress through parliament, if he becomes British Prime Minister.

Writing in the Belfast Telegraph, the former Chancellor said if negotiations do not deliver what it is needed, the bill will become law.

Rishi Sunak pledged to reopen talks with the EU to 'fix' the protocol.

He said a negotiation can conclude much faster than passing legislation.
