Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has has his assets frozen by the UK Government over his links with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Abramovich is one of seven Russian oligarchs to be hit with an asset freeze and travel ban, under new sanctions announced this morning.
Abramovich is also prohibited from transactions with UK individuals and businesses.
Chelsea have ben given a sporting licence, allowing them to continue trading as a football club, however the club are not allowed to sell tickets - meaning only season ticket holders will be allowed to attend games at Stamford Bridge
The news this morning means that the sale of the club can no longer take place at this moment in time - Abramovich has been trying to sell Chelsea since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
