In the UK, Labour's asking for an investigation into comments ex-Chancellor Rishi Sunak made about diverting public money from deprived urban areas.
In a clip leaked to the New Statesman, the Tory leadership candidate tells an audience in Tunbridge Wells he wanted to make sure "areas like this" got the funding they deserved instead.
But his allies - including Conservative MP Richard Holden - say he was referring to changing outdated rules to help some rural areas:
"Rishi has thrown out that Treasury orthodoxy, that green book - torn it up, which was running money into major cities but away from all of the country which required levelling-up".
