Kwasi Kwarteng, who backs the foreign secretary, says Rishi Sunak's way is "adding insult to injury":
"To face a world where your interest rates are going up, and then you're putting taxes up on top of that is not helping growth. I mean, that's obvious. I have never believed that the way to deal with a recession to put up taxes on people, I think is perverse."
