The UK has become the first country to approve a Covid vaccine that targets both the original strain and Omicron variant.
The Moderna jab has been given the green light by the MHRA after it was found to meet the UK regulator's standards of safety.
It's thought the booster dose may only need to be given once a year.
Darius Hughes, the general manager of Moderna UK, explains what can be expected next:
"We've produced millions of doses already at risk ready for this approval so they'll be ready to be shipped not only to the UK, but we expect approvals in other jurisdictions over the next few weeks, so there'll be millions of doses ready this autumn and winter."
