Plans for fourteen new smart motorways are being scrapped in Britain because of concerns about safety and costs.
Work on eleven of the projects had already been paused.
Around 10 percent of England's motorway network is made up of smart motorways - which include converting the hard shoulder into a live lane.
But they're controversial.
