The former UK police officer who kidnapped and murdered Sarah Everard has lost an appeal to reduce his sentence.
Wayne Couzens was given a whole-life term for attacking the 33-year-old in London as she walked home in March last year.
His lawyers said he did deserve decades behind bars, but argued the punishment covering his entire life was excessive.
The Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett said the Court of Appeal disagreed:
"The individual facts are such that the judge was entitled exceptionally to impose a whole life order."
