Ukraine could be a step closer to joining the EU.
It's after the European Commission President told the country an opinion on its request to join will be ready at the end of next week.
Ursula Von der Leyen made the comment when she met President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv yesterday.
Ireland South MEP Sean Kelly is welcoming the development:
"It gives hope to all Ukrainian people fighting the war and it also sends a positive message to investors that they can invest in Ukraine because there will eventually be part of the European Union and they will have all the supports that being a member of the European Union will bring them so very positive news and I welcome Ursula Von der Leyen's efforts, she went to Kyiv again for the second time."
