The UN says it's "horrified" by reports that 35 people have been massacred in Myanmar.

An official has condemned the attack as contrary to international law and has demanded a "thorough and transparent investigation".

Two aid workers from Save the Children are still missing after their car was found burnt out at the scene, in the province of Kayah, eastern Myanmar on Christmas Eve.

The massacre is being blamed on the Myanmar military.

Save the Children says it's still trying to find out what happened to its two staff members who were caught up in the violence.

The charity says men, women and children were forced out of cars, with some killed and others arrested.
