The UN has issued a final warning that famine is imminent in the region where children are already dying due to the worst drought in 40 years.
The UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths says famine will occur in two regions in South Central Somalia between October and December.
500 children in Somalia have died since January, and half of the country's 3.6 million children are malnourished.
Four failed rainy seasons have led to severe drought in the Horn of Africa, which hasn't seen rain since 2019.
