An unknown object - equivalent to the size of a car - has been shot down by the US near Alaska.
President Biden ordered for it to be brought down in American territorial waters.
Just days ago the US downed a Chinese balloon off South Carolina - believed to be used for spying.
Press Secretary at the Pentagon Brigadier General Patrick Ryder says it remains unclear where it actually came from:
"The object was flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet and posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight. We have no further details about the object at this time, including any description of its capabilities, purpose or origin".
