Former President Donald Trump's been charged with mishandling hundreds of classified documents - some relating to US nuclear secrets and military plans.
Mr Trump - who's hoping to be back in the White House next year - faces 37 counts, with some charges carrying a 20-year prison sentence.
Special Counsel Jack Smith is leading the investigation:
"Our laws, that protect national defence information, are critical to the safety and security of the United States. They must be enforced. Violations of those laws put our country at risk".
