The World Health Organisation has declared the spread of monkey pox a 'Global Health Emergency'.
It's the highest alarm they can sound.
So far, 14,000 cases of the disease have been reported globally, and five people have died.
The outbreak has spread to over 70 countries - only Coronavirus and Polio have also been given the status of a public health emergency of international concern.
There was debate within the organisation as to whether sounding the alarm was the right decision. Ultimately, the WHO decided to proceed.
