The World Health Organisation says there's a good window of opportunity to stop the spread of Monkeypox.
Health officials say they're still trying to grasp whether the numbers seen in recent weeks are just the tip of the iceberg.
The first Monkeypox case on the island of Ireland was confirmed yesterday in the North.
Dr Sylvie Briand from the World Health Organisation says given it's hard for the virus to spread, there is still an opportunity to stop it:
"We probably can contain this easily. So that's why we are making this briefing today and we are trying to raise the awareness because we are at the very, very beginning and we have a good window of opportunity to to stop the transmission now".
