More than a quarter of a million people across the world have now died of Covid-19.

The number of cases has also increased to almost 3.6 million.

Nearly 1.2 million people have got the virus in the US, where nearly 69,000 people have died.

But the World Health Organisation's director-general, Tedros Ghebreyesus, says the virus's growth is dropping in some places.

"Just as the number of new cases and deaths is declining in some countries, it's mounting in others.

"This virus will be with us for a long time, and we must come together to develop and share the tools to defeat it."
