The wealth of Ireland's nine billionaires has increased by €18.3bn during the pandemic.
A new Oxfam report shows the ten richest men in the world have doubled their fortunes, while the incomes of 99% of people have dropped.
It's calling for a wealth tax here as inequality is contributing to the deaths of at least 21,000 people each day globally.
Oxfam CEO, Jim Clarkin says the inequality must be tackled.
"The real crux of the report is to emphasise how this desperate inequality is impacting on the lives of people.
"It means the money isn't there to invest in healthcare, in social protection, in protecting women against violence, and climate mitigations and adaptations.
"There is a continued global spike in inequality, and the global pandemic has made it much much worse."
