Ireland's population has exceeded five million for the first time in 171 years.
Census figures show there were 5,149,139 people in the State on Census night, which was in April last year.
The total number of people living in Ireland has increased by 8% since the last census was recorded in April 2016.
The population includes just over 2.5m males and just over 2.6m females.
Meanwhile Irelands population is continuing to age; the average age of the population increased from 37.4 in 2016 to 38.8 in 2022.
The highest increase in population was seen in the over 70s at 26% while there was a 4% fall in the numbers of people aged 25 to 39.
Every county saw population growth, with the East of the country seeing the strongest growth.
