That's according to the CEO of the ICAA who says that funding is vital to assist in its 500 missions per year from North Cork.
Deirdre Ormands was eternally grateful when 41 year old son Paul was rescued by the Rathcoole based service in twenty minutes and brought Paul to Cork University Hospital after being attacked by a 900KG bull.
Michael Sheridan, CEO of the Irish Community Air Ambulance told RedFM news how crucial funding for the service is:
"What we know from talking to Paul's Mother Deirdre was that they're eternally grateful for the helicopter being there. We really bring these two things, we get there quickly, and the crew, the medical crew on board, bring real expertise in terms of their abilities to treat somebody unseen, and then crucially as well for somebody like Paul and the situation the Paul was in, the next crucial part of that was a speedy transfer to hospital.
