Irish Water is asking people to conserve water as the hot weather takes a toll on reservoir levels.
It's asking people to use a watering can instead of a hose for the garden and to avoid using paddling pools.
Environmental Scientist Jack O'Sullivan says our water system is outdated:
"We're losing a lot of water in Dublin the leakage rate is the worst in any European city, in many Irish towns, the leakage rate is also very high. And in many Irish times the actual leakage rate is unknown so curing that is step number one."
