It could be late 2025 before all roads and bridges in East Cork damaged by Storm Babet last year will be fully repaired
Just over €17 million has been allocated to Cork County Council for the works this year with the full repair bill standing at €55 million
Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says his department is committed to fully fund the bill but says the works timeline lies with the Council
Local TD James O'Connor told RedFM News that the Minister needs to act urgently to allocate the funding in order to pursue the repair works
"What I would say, is that, from speaking to people on the ground. They have now seen a huge amount of time elapse and Eamon Ryan is not treating this with the urgency that has required here in East Cork"
