The 77-metre long Norweigan built ship washed up on the Ballymacotter coast in East Cork
It happened at the weekend during the aftermath of Storm Dennis.
A risk assessment of the vessel has found that while the ship itself is low on diesel fuel, there are a number of diesel and hydraulic oil barrels on board.
Cork County Council is considering using a helicopter to remove these barrels.
