Senior Chartered Engineer role with award winning Design & Build Company Sigma Homes.

 

This is an in-person role, suitable for candidates residing in Cork.

 

Sigma Homes is a medium sized, supportive company, a Cork City-based design and build team with projects based across the city. . Sigma Homes work on residential properties, producing architecturally designed renovations, extensions, and retrofits to our clients’ homes. We have a large portfolio of high-profile builds, and are an established, well-known name in construction and design.

 

Your new role:

You will be self-directed, taking on the responsibility for the structural and regulatory design of Architecturally designed extensions and renovations.

Working with a team of Architects, qualified Interior Architects and Quantity Surveyors to deliver a full service to Clients as part of a one-stop shop service.

Retrofit design and energy efficient upgrades are coordinated with one of the country’s largest SEAI One Stop Shop companies, where you will immerse yourself within the process, becoming a key part of the delivery of the project.

Working with exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable project managers who will aid and assist in the implementation of your design with tried and trusted sub-contractors who you will build and develop a relationship with to ensure compliance and coordination throughout the changing environment expected in renovations.

Coordinate with Architects to achieve bespoke details on architectural facades and interior designers to ensure integration of structural features into bespoke interior designs.

Always monitoring quality of design implementation on site, structurally and regulatory you will certify and sign off for the company, client, and financial institutions alike.

You will work in a friendly, dynamic environment working with Planning Specialists, Quantity Surveyors and Estimators briefly during the initial design phase and take ownership of the project with the project managers to deliver the project from initial demolition to completed renovation and handover to Clients, including all related regulatory paperwork.

 

What you'll need to succeed:

Ideally 5 plus years’ post-graduate experience in the design and management of domestic builds and structural engineering, renovation experience a bonus.

Chartered status essential.

A broad experience of working independently, with experience in structural, drainage, planning and all aspects of developments.

Strong technical ability in all aspects of their field of Engineering.

Excellent understanding of Eurocodes, Steel and Concrete design and the use of Sky Civ (or similar) analysis software.

In depth knowledge of Technical Guidance Documents, A through M as related to domestic works.

A good communicator with the ability to work well with others.

Requires an excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to meet strict deadlines and adapt to changing environment on-site.

Pay: €75,000.00-€90,000.00 per year DOE
