Landowners in Cork are being urged to check if they are liable for the new ‘Land-Hoarding Tax’.
The tax will be due from next year on property which is both zoned for housing - and serviced.
The government hopes the 3% tax will ease the housing crisis by either forcing landowners to start building or to sell up.
Both the City and County Councils have published their Residential-Zoned-Land-Tax maps, and owners have until the first of April to challenge Council decisions.
