The €5 million farm was built by pharma giant Eli Lilly to power their site in Dunderrow.
The 8.8 hectare farm was constructed in just three months and produces enough electricity with its 12,600 panels to power the entire town of Kinsale.
Speaking to RedFM News, Taoiseach Micheál Martin has welcomed the development:
"It's just an extraordinary achievement and contribution to both the climate objectives of the company but also an exemplar project for the entire country largest solar farm in Ireland, and really leads the way in terms of how the country will have to follow in all sectors in the months and years ahead."
