A group representing the live entertainment industry say they feel like they are not being treated seriously by the government.
The Events Industry Alliance say they are very frustrated by the lack of a reopening date for the industry following a meeting with Arts Minister Catherine Martin yesterday.
The Minister is also said to be disappointed by the lack of support from her cabinet colleagues in her plan to reopen the sector, while those within the industry say they fear even more people will look for work elsewhere following a 17 month shutdown.
Speaking to RedFM News, Edel Curtain from Coughlan's in the city says the industry is falling apart without a definite reopening date.
"Our own musicians are travelling abroad because there's no shows here for them to do.
"As long as this goes on it just fully cements the idea that this industry isn't really regarded by the government as a proper industry.
"Therefore, why would anyone want to get involved in it - or stay in it for that matter?"
