The Lord Mayor of Cork is leading a delegation of 11 public representatives to China.
Cork is twinned with the city of Shanghai and is a partner city of Wuxi.
The representatives include City Council officers and councillors, the CEO of Cork Chamber of Commerce and educational organisation CE Innocultur - they will be in China until 8th November.
The City Council says the goal of the mission is to "reignite long-running partnerships in Shanghai and Wuxi, particularly in the areas of health and education".
As well as attending meetings and expos, the delegates will also extend their thanks to Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai, which donated ventilators and PPE to Cork City during the pandemic.
