Speaking to RedFM news, Lord Mayor of Cork City, Colm Kelleher says Covid has pushed Cork to become more like other european cities:
"It's a vote of confidence in the City of London we received from falter Ireland this morning, and they think cork will be, you know, used as a model for other Irish cities, cities, to follow suit. You see us in your office here in Brussels and Amsterdam, you see all over the continent, people are used to outdoor dining, something we didn't do well here in Ireland to be quite honest with you, but I think if there's one silver lining we can take all the call this, is that, you know, it's finally push us in the right direction to look and re-evaluate our city and our streetscape."
