Last week a discharge of chemicals from a water treatment plant in Freemount polluted the River Allow
Around 5,000 fish were discovered dead due to the contaminated water in an 8km stretch
Speaking in the Dail Cork Labour TD Sean Sherlock says urgent action needs to be taken to ensure accountability is taken
"It's reassuring to know that Minister Ryan has written to the statutory body involved here, and that a meeting will take place with the CEO of Uisce Eireann and we'll see what the result of that meeting will be"
