A major report on proposed assisted dying laws is set to be published later.
The Oireachtas Assisted Dying Committee report is set to recommend allowing it in very strict circumstances - including that the person has a terminal illness and their pain is to a level they can't tolerate.
However, it's understood Committee Chair Michael Healy Rae is dissenting against the report, which has caused divisions among committee members who feel the report is being undermined.
It's unlikely any legislation won't be introduced in the lifetime of the current Government.
