A 20-year-old man has appeared in court charged with producing a weapon after his father was shot in a restaurant in Dublin on Christmas Eve.
Brandon Hennessy, of Sheephill Avenue, Dublin 15, is also charged with violent disorder arising from the same incident at Browne's Steakhouse in Blanchardstown.
Brandon Hennessy’s father, 48-year-old Jason Hennessy Senior, died in hospital eleven days after being shot while having dinner with family and friends.
The gunman, 26-year-old Tristan Sherry, died at the scene after being tackled and disarmed.
Two men have since been charged with his murder.
Brandon Hennessy is accused of engaging in violent disorder by using or threatening to use violence with six others.
He is also accused of producing a steel-handled brush as a weapon during the same incident.
At today’s court hearing, his solicitor told the court that his client’s father was murdered and that it’s alleged he retaliated against the person who did it.
Hennessy, who is the seventh person to be charged in connection with what happened at the restaurant, was granted bail and is due back in court in March.
