A man is to appear at a District Court sitting this morning after he was arrested in connection with the setting of fires at five stores in the city centre.
The man in his 20s was arrested yesterday following the incidents after 5pm on Sunday.
Emergency services were alerted after staff and customers discovered small fires at a pharmacy, three clothing stores and a sports store.
Clothing rails and display stands were set alight and were quickly put out by staff and customers.
No one was injured during the incident, however it's understood stock at a number of the stores was damaged by smoke.
An investigation was launched to identify those responsible and CCTV footage from the city centre and the stores was examined.
