A young woman is dead after a road crash in Co. Louth.
It happened in the early hours of this morning.
Meanwhile Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a separate collision in Co. Mayo.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at Carnalogue in Co. Louth just before 2 o'clock this morning where a van had hit a tree.
A woman aged in her 20s and a passenger in the van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger - a man also aged in his 20's - suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment. Gardaí say no other injuries were reported.
The woman's body remains at the scene this morning where a technical examination will take place.
Meanwhile, forensic collision investigators are also due at the scene of a single vehicle crash in which a man in his 40's died on the N17 at Lisduff in Claremorris, Co. Mayo yesterday evening.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to both collisions to come forward.
