Gardaí arrested a man in the city yesterday after he robbed a shop while armed with a knife.
It happened on the Lower Glanmire Road at around half 3 in the afternoon.
A man entered the shop with a knife and took a large sum of cash.
No one was injured in the incident and Gardaí arrested a man in his 30's.
In a statement to RedFM News, Gardaí said:
"Gardaí are investigating a robbery that occurred at a commercial premises on the Lower Glanmire Road yesterday afternoon, Sunday 26th November 2023.
At approximately 3:30pm a male entered a shop armed with a knife and a sum of cash was taken.
No injuries were reported.
A male in his 30s has since been arrested and is currently in detention under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork City.
Investigations are ongoing."
