A man in his early 50s has been charged in connection with an incident involving a suspected firearm in Castlemartyr.
He was taken to Midleton Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
A man has been arrested in connection with an incident that happened last Thursday afternoon in Castlemartyr.
At approximately 10 past three, Gardaí received reports of a male armed with a suspected firearm causing a disturbance outside a residence in the village.
When the guards arrived at the scene, he was unarmed.
Gardaí arrested the man, in his early 50s, and he was taken to Midleton Garda Station.
He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
A suspected firearm with ammunition was later seized at the scene by Gardaí.
The man has since been charged in connection with this incident and appeared before Listowel District Court.
