A man is due in court this morning charged in connection with the biggest drug seizure in the history of the state.
The MV Matthew was detained by a joint task force involving Gardaí and the Army Ranger Unit on the 26th of September.
On the ship, officers discovered 2.25 tonnes of cocaine with an estimated value of 157 million euro
The man was arrested yesterday evening and will appear in Midleton District Court at 10:30 this morning.
He is the 8th person to be brought to court in relation with the seizure.
