Margot Robbie has officially been announced as the highest paid actress in Hollywood thanks to her new role in Greta Gerwig's live-action Barbie movie.
The Australian star was paid an astounding USD$12.5million for her upcoming role alongside Ryan Gosling in the highly anticipated film. Robbie's latest check exceeds her reported USD$10million salary for her latest blockbuster, Birds Of Prey in 2020.
Both Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling pocketed the same salary, with the pair ranking equal 16th on Variety's newest list of Hollywood's top earners.
The Barbie movie wrapped production this week following four months of filming. The romantic-comedy is based on the eponymous Mattel doll line, starts Robbie as Barbie and Gosling as her longtime love interest Ken.
A synopsis on IMDB of the upcoming film reads: "A doll living in 'Barbieland' is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys."
Barbie, which now has the distinction of being the first live-action film adaptation in the toyline's multimedia franchise, is set for release in July 2023.
