The singer passed away yesterday at the age of 39 after revealing she had breast cancer over a year ago.
Sarah's bandmates in Girls Aloud have paid tribute to her, with Kimberley Walsh saying her "fire burned so bright".
Helen Forristal, Director of Nursing Services at the Marie Keating Foundation, is encouraging women to know their bodies and report any changes to their GP:
Somebody like Sarah was very unfortunate to have diagnosed metastatic breast cancer, even within a year of initial diagnosis, it does happen to 30% of women who have been initially diagnosed with breast cancer, so it's important for women to know that I think and be aware of that, so that they remain very vigilant and look after their bodies, and, you know, know that they know and see, and act on any changes that might happen.
