The Mercy plan to open a state-of-the-art cancer centre.
Cork City Council has now given the go-ahead after the Mercy University Hospital Cork Foundation CLG applied for planning permission back in May to develop and make alterations to it's Cancer CARE Centre.
The echo reports that the cost of the facility on Dyke Parade in Cork City. will cost between 2.2 and 2.4 million euro.
The centre will be a non-clinical facility to provide a quiet place for those affected by cancer to access services, feel comfortable and safe.
