Met Éireann says last month was Cork's wettest October ever in over 60 years.
Over 55 milimitres of rain fell on the 18th of October when Storm Babet hit - the highest amount of rainfall in one day since 1995.
The weather station at Cork Airport had its highest ever recorded level of rainfall this October where 307.2 millimiters of rain fell throughout the month.
Record breaking rainfall levels were also recorded at Roches Point and Moore Park weather stations.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Moore from Met Eireann says it's been a very wet year for Cork:
"Those three stations have already recorded over 100% of their autumn rainfall as well. The Moore Park is 129% of its awesome rainfall Cork Airport as 135% of Autumn rainfall. So that's where the month left to go. And those three stations have already recorded over 100% of their annual rainfall as well. So it's been a particularly wet year, and there's two months ago, in the year.
