Midleton Chamber of Commerce says it's extremely disappointing to see that high business costs are shutting restaurants across the town.
6 restaurants have closed their doors in the East Cork town in the last year.
It’s close to a year since the town had to rebuild itself after devastating floods.
Speaking to RedFM News, Adrianna Hegarty of Midleton Chamber says the high costs of running a business is leading to more restaurant closures:
It's really the Government and the VAT situation. And then rent is high as well, it's hard to make all the payments. And of course, staff, hard enough for people to get staff would be another problem. And of course, no accommodation. Then if you do bring in staff, there's nowhere for them to live. "
