Migrant Nurses Ireland says some overseas nurses working in hospitals in Ireland have been subject to bullying, harrassment and unfair dismissal

The organisation says all nursing staff are entitled to work in an open and fair workplace and deserve to have any cultural differences respected

An independent external probe has been launched at Cork University Hospital into allegations of racism

Management at CUH say they're treating the allegations very seriously and look forward to a prompt outcome of the investigation.

Speaking to RedFM News Varghese Joy of Migrant Nurses Ireland says overseas nurses make up of 50% of nurses in Ireland and many are unaware of their rights:

They're not aware about their trade union rights and so on. So a lot of cases, they don't tell anyone you know they just keep it to themselves, and then you know keep being exposed to this type of treatment which they never voice complained or whatever. Since we were formed in 2021. We are telling our members you know there is where there is a way that is a mechanism that you can make this complaint, you can voice these issues."
